Rebuilding Manor Mission Church for the future
Manor Mission Church is looking at how to potentially rebuild its buildings to allow it to serve the community and congregation more effectively.
We want to get your views on how to design our building as part of a series of stages so that any new buildings reflect the needs of our community and congregation.
About Manor Mission Church
Manor Mission Church was set up in 1926 as an independent Christian chapel to serve the original inhabitants of Laindon. Over the subsequent 94 years we’ve hosted a variety of groups to serve the needs of the local population alongside our church activities.
Currently we host a youth group, multiple Guiding groups, Disabled Christians Fellowship, a coffee morning, the Laindon School Uniform Bank, amongst other regular and one off activities in line with our Trust Deed and Charitable objectives.
For further details on our history, objectives and activities please visit our About Us page
Context to the rebuild
In light of the wider development of the area, as well as parts of our buildings getting to the end of their economically viable life, we are looking at redesigning our buildings to make them more suitable for use by a range of groups and are consulting the community to find out what would be most useful in the local area to try and design the building to facilitate what our community and congregation need for us to continue to serve them.
The Site
Our buildings are located off Manor Road, opposite the LIDL supermarket near the High Road. The plans for the redevelopment of Laindon include converting the current LIDL site into residential housing and the land that is currently vacant to the southwest will become the site of the new Health Centre.
