Welcome to 40 Days of Worship - our Lent reflection for 2022.
Each day has a different song selected by someone in the congregation, a Bible verse and a thought that explains why the song is important to them or how it links to Lent and Easter.
You can access it in a couple of different ways:
Option 1 - Download the entire booklet from the first blog post and follow it through on the PDF file.
Option 2 - Each day the song, verse and thought will appear (late afternoon the day before) so that you can just focus on that day's song.  This will also allow you to comment any thoughts that come to you that you think would be helpful for others to also know.
Either way, we hope and pray that this shared journey through Lent will help us to worship our God more in every way.

Day 1 - 2nd March: Be Still for the presence

John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Paul chose this one saying “When I sing or hear this hymn it reminds me that there is one God and we need to stop and focus on him.”
It becomes very easy now days to rush everywhere, or be detached from the world and God through the overuse of technology.
Lent was a time that Jesus deliberately chose to go and rely on God and to withdraw from everyone else.
This Lent, as we work through 40 Days of Worship, remember to Be Still! And I pray that you’ll feel God’s presence as you worship God through the different songs that people have chosen and the reflections included with them.
Each of them brings you a different angle on worshipping God, so take the time each day to Be Still and worship Him, be cleansed by Him, be healed by Him and gain a greater understanding of His power.
As you start your journey through 40 Days of Worship, stop and pray that you’ll gain a closer relationship with God.

Thank you very much Tim for organising this for us.

I thank God for Who He is and for what He does. It is very true to me that when i overthink or push things I just get overwhelmed but when I stop and let God be God, that’s when i find godly peace.
I am guilty of being very occupied with lots of things related to my experience of being a first time and full time mother, i sometimes feel isolated and that all is do i become a mom, i love my Nathan so much and i love being a mom to him but I always feel i have no time for anything else and that includes my spiritual life. But i thank God that even if i just spend a minute or an hour of being still in His presence, He meets me and He always makes me feel that He will never be too far, He is always near and with us.

Thank you for your honesty Aubrey. Thank you also for the reminder that we have a God who is faithful and wants us to spend that time (however much) with him.
