Welcome to 40 Days of Worship - our Lent reflection for 2022.
Each day has a different song selected by someone in the congregation, a Bible verse and a thought that explains why the song is important to them or how it links to Lent and Easter.
You can access it in a couple of different ways:
Option 1 - Download the entire booklet from the first blog post and follow it through on the PDF file.
Option 2 - Each day the song, verse and thought will appear (late afternoon the day before) so that you can just focus on that day's song.  This will also allow you to comment any thoughts that come to you that you think would be helpful for others to also know.
Either way, we hope and pray that this shared journey through Lent will help us to worship our God more in every way.

Day 13 - 14th March: Praise my soul the King of Heaven

Psalm 119:175
Let my soul live and praise you,
and let your rules help me.

At school we used to have to sing hymns, and this must have been one of the Head’s favourites as this one stuck in my mind from how often we sung it (it was number 56 in our school hymn book).
It is funny what we remember sometimes, but the songs that we learn early on tend to stick with us and help us when we’re struggling, or they come to mind when we need to convey something to God.
Just taking the first line of this song, there’s so much we can gain from it.
I’ve got to Praise – thank and adore, bow down and worship
With all My soul – with everything that I’ve got, anything I’ve got
Who?  The King – my ruler, my guide, my leader, my saviour
Where?  Up to Heaven – my final destination, where everything is perfect, beyond my wildest dreams and imagination.
Today, let ALL of you, praise ALL of your Heavenly King contributing your little bit to the chorus of worship in Heaven.
