Welcome to 40 Days of Worship - our Lent reflection for 2022.
Each day has a different song selected by someone in the congregation, a Bible verse and a thought that explains why the song is important to them or how it links to Lent and Easter.
You can access it in a couple of different ways:
Option 1 - Download the entire booklet from the first blog post and follow it through on the PDF file.
Option 2 - Each day the song, verse and thought will appear (late afternoon the day before) so that you can just focus on that day's song.  This will also allow you to comment any thoughts that come to you that you think would be helpful for others to also know.
Either way, we hope and pray that this shared journey through Lent will help us to worship our God more in every way.

Day 3 - 4th March: On the bloodstained ground

John 19:30
“It is finished.”

This beautiful song takes us to the heart of the Easter message that Jesus died in our place. In so doing, he effectively washed our sins away.
My guilt, my shame, my pride; all gone!
We cannot stand in the face of such a painful and powerful sacrifice. We must bow down and kneel before him in worship and gratefulness, and in renewed determination to serve the one who is worthy of every last drop of our energy in his service.
We must linger a while on the Good Friday scene before we can truly appreciate Easter Sunday!

Something that spoke to me this morning from the song was about Jesus tear stained face. It seems really quite obvious that it could/would happen now thinking about it, but wasn't something I'd previously considered.

Such a beautiful song to start my day. Thank You Lord.
My prayer this morning is for God to keep me in a kneeling down position before Him, not literally but in a position where i will always live knowing His sovereignty and will always respect His blood that He shed for me.
