Bible Study: Adam Lead by Steve

We had a great time discussing Adam and Genesis, with Steve leading. We got a little into the question of Genesis “versus” scientific theories of human origins. I wondered if anyone was interested in looking at these current scientific theories of human “evolution”?

Genetic theory now seems to be suggesting that ALL women alive today are descended from a common ancestor, called “Mitochondrial Eve”, while ALL men alive today are descended from a common male ancestor, called “Y-chromosomal Adam”.

See “Mitochondrial Eve” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitochondrial_Eve#:~:text=Mitochondrial%20Eve%20is%20the%20most,maternal%20line%20descendants%20alive%20today)
and “Y-chromosomal Adam” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y-chromosomal_Adam)

It’s scientifically unclear when they might have lived, and if they seem to have lived a long time apart.

Anyway, scientific theories change over time; but this is interesting.
